The narrative showed the complexity for which Karvina was known, though the graphics were monochrome, vague grey and white shapes against a black background. On the surface it was a variant on the mystery or horror survival game, a precursor to the Myst and Silent Hill franchises. In the spring 1989 the Karvina Corporation released a curious game, whose dissemination among American students that fall was swift and furious, though its popularity was ultimately short-lived. Any supposed buying links are false, as no copies have made it onto the web save for several encrypted password-protected copies. Only 50,000 or so copies of the game were created, and it fell into obscurity. The game supposedly deleted itself after it was finished, and could not be copied. It is assumed that Porto's gameplay was akin to a point and click puzzle game, while for Ghast, there would be more combat. It is assumed that there are more enemies, such as different undead Slovatik workers, and possibly the Fires of the Earth. A single enemy has been spotted, an undead worker who Porto knew when she was alive. It was nearly impossible to play as Ghast, as he was invisible, which meant that pretty much everyone chose Porto. Killswitch is an urban legend revolving around a supposed 1989 game, in which the player had the choice of playing either Ghast, or Porto.
